From Rock Star to Skincare to the Stars

Medical Esthetician Trina Renea, Shares Her Life Experiences and How She Landed Where She Has…

Los Angeles (CA).  If you had to ask about the similarities between a rock star and medical esthetician most would say, none.  Contrary to belief, Trina Renea, owner of Los Angeles premier medical spa, Facial Bungalow (www.facialbungalow.com), shares her experiences as a lead singer of famous punk rock band to becoming Los Angeles’ most sought after medical esthetician.  Here is Trina’s story of how the two industries collided and what experiences she has taken from both to get to where she is today.

 

Trina Renea’s passion for beauty started like most young girls, well before 12th grade, where her entrepreneurial spirit lead her to own a budding manicurist business which she launched after completing beauty school when still in high school.  As many others in Los Angeles, Trina was working more than one job and held a part time position with EPIC Records in the A&R department.  The music industry had always interested Trina and Hollywood’s promise of stardom intrigued her further to study at an intense music school, the Trebas Institute of Recording Arts, for 2 years while still managing to hold down 2 jobs.  After many auditions Trina finally met her music match, as lead singer for all girl punk rock band, LoBall.  The band was signed to Interscope Records in 2001 and shortly thereafter hit the road for their international tour, just a week after 9/11 hit.  When most bands automatically quit their tour, Trina’s band went full steam ahead playing for American soldiers heading to Afghanistan and traveled to countries like Sarajevo, Bosnia, Kosovo, Masadonia, Switzerland and Germany to play for their fans.  Surrounded by Humvee’s and sometimes having to wear flack jackets and helmets on the tour bus for protection the girls made their rounds and found a new respect for the military and our country.

 

While on the road with her 5 all-girl band members Trina quickly became the skin expert of the group.  Her skills gained from beauty school and her manicurist business kept them all looking fresh faced despite all the late nights, poor diet and heavy make-up.  After two successful world tours the band decided to go their separate ways and Trina decided to retire from the music industry.  Trina had lived her dream and was ready for her next venture.  It came out of the blue one night while fussing over at her husband’s skin when he, frustrated said, “you should do this for a living since you love it so much!”  That was over 8 years ago and Trina has never looked back!

Trina  went ahead and completed her formal training at the Dermal Institute and Aesthetics International, a rigorous post graduate school in Los Angeles.  Trina was hired almost immediately by reputable Beverly Hills Rapaport Dermatology.  Eight years later, Trina still works one day a week at Rapaport Dermatology and also owns a busy spa in the heart of West Hollywood, the Facial Bungalow. The Facial Bungalow is a private medical spa, hidden from the bustling streets of West Hollywood and discovered only by those lucky enough to be in the know.  Once an appointment is made, directions to the location are revealed and the secret to younger flawless looking skin is unveiled!  The treatment rooms at the Facial Bungalow are beautifully designed with an East Asian décor and Zen-like setting, each with its own private entrance.
